Simple rectangular kufic.
Contents
The translation of the inscription is:
- Al-Sharik has made this
- dam with the permission with God
- May He encourage the respect to the lands.
Comments
This inscription appears to suggest that amelioration of the soil is a work which is pleasing to God.
This graffito was found in Sadd al-ʿArḍa, about 10 kms south-east of Ṭa'if, during the Philby-Ryckmans-Lippens expedition.
