The translation of the inscription is given below:

  1. ʿĀṣim bin ʿUmar
  2. bin Ḥafṣ trusts in the Ever Living, the Ever Watchful.
  3. And he wrote in the year hundred.

Comments

ʿĀṣim b. ʿUmar b. Ḥafṣ (b. ʿĀṣim b. ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb) is related to Rabāḥ b. Ḥafṣ b. ʿĀṣim b. ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb. The latter is the uncle of former and both are descendants of ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, the second caliph. ʿĀṣim's uncle Rabāḥ left two inscriptions dated 96 AH and 100 AH.
