The translation of the inscription is:
- Made in Basra in year sixty nine [of hijra], "barakah", crafted by Ibn Yazid.
Comments
Figure (a) shows the top view of the bronze can with the inscription is placed around the rim.
The can was probably produced in Basra in the Umayyad era. Its body is grooved, with a conic base, high neck and a handle with a filigree palmetto ornament.
Location
It was donated by State Museum of Georgia (Tbilisi) to the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia.
