Anonymous Arab-Sassanian coin, frozen in 47 AH.

Date

47 AH / 667-668 CE.

Contents

Obverse field: Typical late Arab-Sassanian bust, anonymous. Obverse margin: bism Allāh al-malik ("In the name of God, the King").

Reverse field: Typical Arab-Sassanian fire-altar with attendants with mint (Bīshāpūr).

Comments

Weight = 3.95 gms.

These coins were also minted in 45 AH / 665 CE.

Location

Not known. Images of the coin are from the Arab-Sasanian (Or Early Muslim) Coinage. Similar coins are also found in the British Museum, London.
