25 cm x 47 cm. Written in kufic script.
Contents
The translation of the inscription is:
- God! None has the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever Living,
- the One who sustains and protects all that exists. And this was inscribed by ʿAli bin ʿAbd
- Allāh in Shawwāl in the year
- ninety three.
Comments
The inscription contains the first line of the Throne Verse (Ayat al-Kursi), Qur'an 2:255. The Throne Verse is also seen in various inscriptions in Jabal Usays (see the ref.).
