49 cm x 113 cm. Written in kufic script.
Contents
The translation of the inscription is:
- "Oh mankind, fear your Lord who created you and
- those who came before you if you wish to be successful." This was written by ʿAbd
- Allāh bin ʿAmmārah in the year 84.
Comments
The inscription contains eclectic blend of words and phrases taken from different verses of the Qur'an, viz., 4:1, 2:21 and 2:189. The order is shown below.
